Group Gliding Evenings

Welland Gliding Club is offering local organisations and companies and their staff the chance to experience the thrill of gliding.  Each Friday evening from May until mid September, the club is inviting visitor groups of up to 20 people to try a winch launch flight of up to 10 minutes, and even, circumstances permitting, have a go on the controls themselves, naturally under the tuition of an experienced instructor.

Once airborne, local landmarks such as Thrapston lakes, Corby and Oundle are clearly visible from a thousand feet above our airfield near Lyveden New Bield.  Many of our members started gliding with a trial lesson like this, and have gone on to become accomplished soaring pilots, and we would be delighted to discuss further membership opportunities for those interested.

The cost of the flying is £20 per flight, but we do stipulate that a minimum group size of 10 is needed for a firm booking.  We are happy to discuss with you your precise needs regarding the use of the club’s facilities for your social.
